To be eligible, visa holders must: hold a valid temporary graduate visa, or have previously held a temporary graduate visa that expired on or after 1 February, 2020 Have left Australia (for at least 1 day) between 1 February 2020 and 15 December 2021

What are the requirements for obtaining a temporary graduate visa (subclass 485)?

  • You must be under 50 years old and possess an acceptable visa in order to apply for the temporary graduate visa (subclass 485).

What is the English test requirement for a temporary graduate visa (subclass 485)?

You could be required to submit evidence of your English language proficiency as part of your visa application. Take the IELTS exam to determine how well-versed you are in English for studying, working, and immigrating. Do I need OSHC (overseas student health cover) to apply for a temporary graduate visa (subclass 485)?

Proof of your Overseas Visitors Health Cover (OVHC), which is advised to start on the day your student visa ends, is required when you apply for a 485 visa.

Second Post-Study Work Stream

  • If you possess a Temporary Graduate Visa and obtained your degree from a regionally situated Australian university. With this visa, you can temporarily live and work in Australia.
  • Depending on the study location, work and stay in Australia for between one and two years (must be regional)
  • possess a recent degree from a programme certified with CRICOS
  • the family to Australia
  • No processing time is provided.

Replacement Stream

  • Current and previous Temporary Graduate Visa holders who missed time owing to COVID-19 travel limitations are eligible for this type of visa. With this visa, you can temporarily live and work in Australia.
  • often ranging from 18 months to 5 years
  • possess a recent degree from a programme certified with CRICOS
  • holders of study visas for employment (for 2 years) the post-coursework master's will now be awarded three years (This is a temporary measure)
  • Former holders of Graduate Work Stream visas (for 18 months) will now be granted two years (This is a temporary measure)
  • the family to Australia
  • No processing time is provided.

2. What is the best way to check if my occupation is listed?

The professions listed on the Australian Government's Immigration Skilled List should be checked.

3. What is the process for checking my eligibility for this Visa?

  • Be a graduate of a programme offered by an Australian university
  • English language requirements must be satisfied by passing the Occupational English Test, Pearson Tests, or IELTS.
  • Observe Australian Health requirements
  • It may also be necessary to assess your skills.

4. Do police checks also have to be done for Visa 485?

Yes, a police check is required for all dependents on the visa who are older than 16 years old.

5. How long can I work on a 485 visa?

You have the right to full-time employment for the whole term of your 485 temporary graduate working visa. You must apply for a new visa under a different subclass if you intend to stay in Australia after your current visa expires.

6. How do I get a 485 Visa? Do I need health insurance?
