Child Visa (Subclass: 101)

The visa enables a child to reside permanently in Australia with their parents.

The applicant must be the dependent child of an Australian citizen, a New Zealander who meets the requirements, or the holder of an Australian permanent visa.

applicant must be under 18, enrolled full-time in school and between the ages of 18 and 25, or older than 18 but unable to work because of a handicap.

  • The applicant must be the dependent child of an Australian citizen, a New Zealander who meets the requirements, or the holder of an Australian permanent visa.
  • Applicants must be under 18, full-time students under 25 and financially dependent on their parents, or over 18 and unable to work due to a disability.
  • The applicant must be a single parent-dependent individual.
  • The applicant must be outside Australia at the time of application.

The visa enables a child to reside permanently in Australia with their parents.

  • The applicant must be a dependent child of an Australian citizen, a New Zealander who meets the requirements, or the holder of an Australian permanent visa.
  • The applicant must be under 18 years of age, a full-time student aged over 18 and under 25, or over 18 and unable to work due to disability
  • The applicant must be a single individual and reliant on their parents. The applicant must be in Australia when the application is made and when the decision is made

Dependent Child Visa (Subclass 445)

While the Department of Home Affairs reviews the application for their parent's permanent Partner visa, this visa enables the child to temporarily reside in Australia.

The applicant must be a dependent child of the parent holding the visa.

  • The applicant must be sponsored by the parent who holds the visa.
